So my company had a gig last week to perform at the Yelp Holiday Party. It was at a great location; the exploratorium. That led to many fun possibilities for all party goers. Im not sure if it the holidays or what, but people were kinda crazy and drunk at this thing. I am guessing that the opportunity to drink fee booze for a few hours really appeals to people. However they really take it past their limit so that by the end of it all, people were not very aware of their spatial awareness. They were bumping into us, spilling drinks and such. It didnt help that somehow, the stage that SoulForce was about to perform on was suddenly filled with party goers and their drinks. By the time the staff got all these people off the stage for SoulForce to perform, you an only imagine how WET the astroturf grass surface of the stage was. ..yuck.
This incident and other recent holiday tragedies that I have read about led me to think that perhaps the holiday time makes people absolutely panicked and not at peace and not filled with joy the way it is supposed to.
Dont you think we need to reclaim what the holidays mean to us all ?
Love and respect

ouch. sounds like quite a change from the dancefest scene which was all about dance as art.
But, yeah you're right. The party sounds like it was more of a general excuse to let go of boundaries instead of being about holiday together-ness (or something mature sounding like that :-) ).
